In 1466, Lamia was finally captured by the Ottoman Turks, who held it until the liberation of Lamia in 1833. The village was captured by the Ottomans shortly after Lamia. The inhabitants of Amurion fought the Turks like heroes, because they had nothing to live for and the battle was a one-way street. Amuri was the Turks' worst nightmare because they caused problems for the occupation throughout.

Several men of the village became fighters and heroes of the revolution of 1821 to free themselves from the Turkish occupation.

The Turks reached the valley not long after the fall of Constantinople on May 29, 1453. by Sultan Muhammad II of the Ottoman Empire. The declining Byzantine Empire came to an end when the Ottomans breached the ancient land wall of Constantinople after besieging the city for 55 days.

In 1466, Lamia was finally captured by the Ottoman Turks, who held it until the liberation of Lamia in 1833.
