WWII & CIVIL WAR
Amouri was devastated by the war, a natural hideaway because of the proximity to the mountains. After the Germans, the Brits fueled the civil conflict with gold coins, Many buckets of these coins were buried at Amouri due to the strategic location.

THE TUNNEL SYSTEM
Amazing... The Tunnels are one of the great mysteries of Amurion, who invented the tunnels and why? This was a genius innovation of the men who dug tunnels to move around the village in secret so that they would never be detected.

THIEVES & BANDITS
Amouri was a village that was liked by many vagabonds, bandits and adventurers because it was easy to hide in the central part of the village or near the Sperchios river which gave access to the other side of the river with artificial boats to cross and avoid detection by everyone those you wanted to avoid.

DEAD MERCHANTS
Merchants would spend the night at Amouri to go next day to neighboring villages to sell goods. This was the only way to get around the old days. Who would kill the Merchants to steal their merchandize, and then bury them in their basements.

BURIED ANCIENT CITY
To the east of the village there is an ancient buried city from the Bronze Age, the city was buried in the mud by a 2,800 year old flood. Villagers and visitors have found Neolithic artefacts.
